Frozen shoulder AKA adhesive capsulitis is a condition that occurs within 2-5% of the general population and causes intense pain and almost total loss of movement in the shoulder joint. It can take between 1-3 years to heal, however it is commonly misdiagnosed which can often lead to a poorer recovery.
Osteopathy has shown to aid recovery of frozen shoulder. Here you can see a patient of mine who is recovering from frozen shoulder and asked to lift her arm as far as possible, and the progress she made after 30 mins of treatment; greatly improved shoulder mobility and less pain. Even little things like the ability to brush your hair or hang up your coat can have a profound impact on quality of life.
