Did you know.....

Idiopathic Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine that affects up to 4 in every 100 adolescents. Nowadays it can be managed with supportive braces or surgery, but what about for the older generations who didn't have the modern day treatments available? Although manual therapy certainly can't 'cure' scoliosis, a 2018 study suggested it may potentially be effective due to the ability to improve range of motion and decrease muscle tone and pain.

Here is a patient of mine with scoliosis before and after her treatment, standing noticeably straighter and walking more comfortably. She is particularly fond of the fact she can now see herself in her bathroom mirror!
